WordPress, easy to install

After researching which blogging app, or CMS, to use for my website, I decided on WordPress. The deciding factor for me was that one can create and add web pages too – as oppose to only posts or blog entries.

I had read how easy it was to install which was something I doubted. I haven’t installed any app which connects to a database without running into problems. I admit, most problems I’ve encountered are minor and have to do with user error, but still. Anyway, after uploading the WordPress files onto my hosting account and creating a mysql database (my hosting provider makes it easy to do via an admin panel) it only took a couple of steps where one inputs the name of the blog/site and email addres to have WordPress up and running.

Easy.

Now the hard part is giving it a persnolized theme and adding content. There are plenty of themes I can download and use, but I want my own look and feel. For now I’ll be using this one which you see. I’ll be tweaking as time permits.
