Commuting by Rail

Friday, July 21st, 2006

CalTrain This week we had a few Spare the Air days and I took advantage of the free public transportation provided to try commuting by rail. From downtown San Francisco I rode CalTrain to Mountain View. From there I jumped onto a Light Rail Train and rode it to San Jose. I got off the light rail train a street block away from where I work. It couldn’t be any easier. Commuting this way takes me an hour and a half - fifteen minutes longer than when I drive in to work on a good day. I don’t think its bad at all. I’ll definitely be commuting by rail more often.

Living in the city

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

I got married in March 2006 and I moved to San Francisco, aka “the city”, where my then girlfriend/now wife grew up and lives. So as a new resident, I’ll be blogging about my experiences here and how I adapt to city life. We live in the Mission District - a diverse and fast-paced area of the city. As with any city and all neighborhoods, there is bad and good to be found.
