flyer imageThere are no new developments regarding the disapperance of my coworker George Lechuk. He’s been missing since November 3, 2006. You can read my previous post about his disappearance by clicking here.

We are starting a new drive to get the word out. A new website has been started which will serve as a repository of the information we have. An updated missing-person flyer has been created and is also available for download at the new website.

Laughing Squid: Decade 2

December 12th, 2006

I didn’t go to the Podcamp West event I wrote about earlier. Something came up that day and I wasn’t able to make it. However, I did go to Laughing Squid’s 11th anniversary party later that day. The event was held at a nightclub called Mighty in San Francisco. The event turned out to be a convergence of technology and art. It seemed to be attended by the who’s who of local artists, bloggers, and techies from Robert Scoble to Kevin Rose and of course Scott Beale, Laughing Squid’s founder.

Del Real Foods

December 12th, 2006

Strolling through Costco, I came across this meat product branded with my last name. The company is called Del Real Foods and Costco is selling their cooked porked better known in Spanish as carnitas. I had seen this company’s name mentioned in search results, but they didn’t have a website and I hadn’t seen any of its products until I came across this one.

Their new website explains the company’s history. The company was started by a family with the last name of Cardenas, but it doesn’t explain why the name Del Real was chosen to be used in the company name.

PodCamp West

November 15th, 2006

This weekend I’m hoping to make it to PodCamp West. Its an UnConference-style meeting for anyone interested in new media and wants to learn and share new ideas, best practices, and general knowledge about podcasting and video blogging.

What I’m hoping to get out of it is to learn the best ways to record and edit audio, hence making decent podcasts. That includes learning about which equipment and applications to use.

Missing Person

November 10th, 2006

My co-worker George Lechuk is missing. He was last seen on Friday evening, November 3rd, by his roomate. His last contact with his employer was via email at around 2:30pm of the same day. His cell phone has been turned off since that time too. His car was found at Point Reyes National Seashore. It had been there since Saturday, November 4th.

A search of the park was made by park rangers by foot, helicopter, horses, and ATVs on Wednesday, November 8th. No sign of George was found and the park rangers believe that he is not in the park.

George lives and works in San Jose.

If you have any information that may help locate George, please contact Detective Jamil Carter at the Missing Persons department of the San Jose Police Department at 408-277-4786. Case number 063120488

This photo of him was taken at LinuxWorld 2006 in San Francisco.

Car Wash

October 24th, 2006

car washI whipped out my camera right before I entered a drive-thru car wash and started taking shooting away. I wasn’t expecting most, if any, of the pictures to come out good at all since I didn’t set the proper settings on the camera. They came out better than expected and with some cool results.
